This isn't a new idea, but inspired by
1. Maharshi movie - We should give credit to Mahesh Babu. The idea is to create an impression that we are working for the society on weekends (with a JSP agenda though), inspired by MB's movie. If something good comes out of it, credit to JSP & MB.
Negligible as it may sound (am not sure, how many really get influenced by social media in AP) - If any hardcore YSRCP guys trolls this weekend politics concept as part-time politics, it can create a rift between MB fans & YSRCP supporters.
2. Sravan Yadav's video in Chai Bisket youtube channel - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yVZlCPrHDy0 - even if such an idea is on the cards, it may take time to take off (given the red tapism, or procedural delays in the party office etc).
So, its better we start something small and slowly improvise or expand.
I've started working on the below spreadsheet to identify villages/assembly constituencies in the vicinity of Hyderabad/Bengaluru/Chennai/Vizag/elsewhere, where JSP has considerable presence ('no of votes' or '% of votes'). Because, it makes sense to start where we have some support from the local JSP leaders/cadre.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1QL-gCQQNSbguADVaFFabntDidCAKDHRbXzVhUNM2irc/edit?usp=sharing - if anyone wants to collaborate or something of this sort is already done, please let me know (there is no point in re-inventing the wheel).
Jagan is planning to depute 1 village volunteer for every 50 families(i.e., 250 persons). We need to match it & focus on villages, because this is where majority of the voting comes from. Urban population just is too busy to go and vote, I guess.
Village population may range from few hundreds to thousands - please take a look at this website to find the villages in AP and their populations (2011 census) - https://villageinfo.in/andhra-pradesh/anantapur/amarapuram/basavanahalli.html (you can browse district wise, districts are further divided into Tehsils / Blocks / Community Development Blocks (C.D.Blocks), which are further divided into villages). Several of the villages have populations below 10,000 (with Jagan's scale we need to build JSP cadre of 40 for such a village of 10,000 people). We will focus on capacity building of the villagers, so they can solve their problems themselves, after initial handholding support - this will build cadre for us.
Taking that scale forward, we need a JSP cadre of 800-1200 persons in each assembly constituency (assuming population between 2 - 3 Lakhs). If we can succeed in at least one constituency with this idea in the next 4.5 years, that would be great.
If anyone wants to volunteer in doing ground level work, please comment here. Depending on the number of individuals interested, we will plan something.
